GlucoSensor Q is specifically aimed at the large group of people who do not qualify for reimbursement of continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) through their health insurer and therefore pay for their sensors themselves.
At present, GlucoSensor Q is available on a self-pay basis. Reimbursement options may be introduced in the near future.
The GlucoSensor Q sensor has an IP27 water-resistance rating and is designed for normal daily activities, including showering and swimming.
The sensor can withstand temporary immersion in water up to 1 metre deep for a maximum of 30 minutes. For additional security, especially during swimming, exercise or other activities that may affect adhesion, we recommend using the included adhesive overpatch to help keep the sensor securely in place.
Prolonged exposure to water, and particularly chlorinated water in swimming pools or hot tubs, may affect the sensor’s adhesion. After swimming or showering, gently dry the sensor and the surrounding area and check that it remains securely attached.

Yes. GlucoSensor Q is a CE-marked continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) system and is placed on the European market in accordance with the applicable EU requirements for medical devices.

Yes. The GlucoSensor Q app includes a sharing function that allows you to share glucose information with family members, friends or caregivers.
Once sharing is enabled, selected followers can view your glucose data through the app. This can provide additional insight and reassurance, for example when someone wants to stay informed about your glucose levels from a distance.
Glucose data is transmitted through the app and may not always be displayed instantly. The timing of updates can depend on factors such as the smartphone connection, internet availability and app synchronisation.

A GlucoSensor Q sensor can be worn for up to 14 days. At the end of the sensor wear period, the sensor will stop providing glucose readings and you will need to place and activate a new sensor to continue continuous glucose monitoring (CGM).
To avoid interruptions in your glucose insights, we recommend having your next GlucoSensor Q sensor ready before the current sensor session ends.
Some users may experience skin irritation or an allergic reaction to the adhesive or other materials that come into contact with the skin.
Possible signs include redness, itching, swelling or persistent irritation around the sensor placement site. If this occurs, remove the sensor and discontinue use on the affected area. If symptoms are severe, persist or worsen, seek advice from a healthcare professional.
To help reduce skin irritation, place the sensor only on clean, dry and intact skin and follow the skin preparation and sensor placement instructions provided with GlucoSensor Q. If you know that you are sensitive to medical adhesives, discuss suitable skin-protection options with a healthcare professional before use.
To remove your GlucoSensor Q sensor, gently loosen the edge of the adhesive and slowly peel the sensor away from the skin.
If the adhesive is difficult to remove, you may use a suitable medical adhesive remover to help loosen it. Avoid pulling the sensor off quickly, as this may irritate the skin.
After removal, any remaining adhesive residue can be cleaned from the skin with warm water and mild soap or a suitable skin-cleansing product.
If the skin underneath the sensor is irritated, allow the area to recover before placing a new sensor on the same site.
Using GlucoSensor Q over a longer period can help you build a clearer picture of your personal glucose patterns and how they change over time.

Choose an area with healthy, intact skin and avoid places with scars, irritation or other skin damage. It is also best to avoid areas that are frequently rubbed, compressed or bumped during daily activities or while sleeping.
For the best experience, rotate sensor placement sites and avoid placing a new sensor repeatedly in exactly the same location.

No. GlucoSensor Q should be removed before undergoing an MRI or CT scan unless your healthcare provider and the GlucoSensor Q Instructions for Use specifically indicate otherwise.
Medical imaging equipment can expose the sensor to conditions for which it may not be designed or validated. To avoid possible damage to the sensor or unreliable glucose readings, remove the sensor before the procedure and place a new GlucoSensor Q sensor afterwards.
Always inform the healthcare professional performing the procedure that you are wearing a continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) sensor and follow the instructions provided by the medical facility.
No. GlucoSensor Q sensors cannot be reused or replaced. Each sensor is designed for single use and can be worn for up to 14 days.
Once the sensor session has ended or the sensor has been removed, it must be replaced with a new GlucoSensor Q sensor to continue continuous glucose monitoring (CGM).

Most data is stored locally on your smartphone. Where data needs to be transferred to our servers to support specific app functions, it is transmitted securely and stored on servers located within the European Union.
Where appropriate, data transferred to the server is pseudonymised to reduce the amount of directly identifiable personal information being processed.
The GlucoSensor Q app and supporting systems are designed and operated in accordance with applicable European data protection requirements, including the GDPR, as well as relevant requirements for medical devices under the EU MDR.

The GlucoSensor Q app also includes an Automatic Report Generator. This allows you to create a PDF report covering a selected period of use. The report can include your glucose data, trends and other relevant information from that period.
Once the PDF report has been generated, you can share it yourself with your healthcare professional, for example by email or another method of your choice.
For most healthcare consultations, the PDF report provides a convenient way to review your glucose patterns and trends over a defined period.

If a GlucoSensor Q reading differs from a blood glucose measurement, allow some time for the sensor readings to stabilise. Temporary differences can occur, especially shortly after placing a new sensor or when glucose levels are changing rapidly.

t is normal for a CGM reading and a blood glucose meter reading to differ to some extent. GlucoSensor Q measures glucose in interstitial fluid, while a blood glucose meter measures glucose directly in the blood.
Because glucose moves from the bloodstream into the interstitial fluid with a natural delay, CGM readings may lag behind blood glucose values by approximately 5 to 15 minutes. The exact delay can vary between individuals and may also depend on how quickly glucose levels are rising or falling.
If the difference is larger than expected, wait a short while and check the glucose trend in the GlucoSensor Q app. The sensor may need some time to stabilise, especially shortly after placement or during periods of rapid glucose change. As the sensor continues to stabilise, readings may become more closely aligned with your blood glucose measurements.
Also make sure the sensor is securely attached and placed according to the instructions.

Chlorinated water, such as in swimming pools and jacuzzis, can weaken the adhesive over time because chlorine may act as a solvent. This can increase the risk of the sensor becoming loose or detached. For extra security during swimming or other water activities, we recommend using an adhesive overpatch to help keep the sensor firmly in place.
After swimming or showering, gently dry the sensor and surrounding skin and check that the sensor remains securely attached.
GlucoSensor Q has not been specifically evaluated, clinically validated or approved for use during pregnancy or for gestational diabetes.
If you are pregnant and already use continuous glucose monitoring for diabetes, or if you have or are being monitored for gestational diabetes, consult your healthcare professional before using GlucoSensor Q.
During pregnancy, glucose monitoring and treatment should always be managed in accordance with the recommendations of your healthcare professional. GlucoSensor Q should not be used as a substitute for pregnancy-specific diabetes care, clinically recommended glucose monitoring or medical supervision.
GlucoSensor Q is designed to operate as a standalone continuous glucose monitoring system, but compatibility with every other medical device has not been established.
The system has not been evaluated for use in people with implanted pacemakers. If you have a pacemaker or another implanted medical device, consult your healthcare professional before using GlucoSensor Q.
GlucoSensor Q should also not be connected to automated insulin dosing systems, closed-loop systems, insulin-suspension systems or other connected medical systems unless this has been expressly authorised by the manufacturer.
During certain medical procedures, additional precautions also apply. GlucoSensor Q must not be worn during MRI, diathermy, electrocautery or electrosurgical procedures, and CT scans may affect device performance. Always follow the GlucoSensor Q Instructions for Use and the instructions of the healthcare professional performing the procedure.
If your GlucoSensor Q sensor becomes loose or falls off, do not attempt to reattach or reuse it. Place a new sensor according to the Instructions for Use.
To help reduce the risk of detachment, we recommend using the supplied adhesive overpatch, especially during sports, swimming or other activities that may place extra stress on the sensor.
Premature detachment caused by external factors such as impact, friction, clothing, swimming, chlorine exposure or incorrect placement is generally not covered by our replacement policy.
If you believe the sensor became detached because of a product or adhesive defect, please contact GlucoSensor customer support. Any replacement request will be assessed in accordance with our Replacement Policy.
No. GlucoSensor Q is not intended to be connected to or used as part of an insulin pump system.
The GlucoSensor Q CGM system must not be used with automated insulin dosing (AID) systems, including closed-loop systems or insulin-suspension systems, unless this has been expressly authorised by the manufacturer. GlucoSensor Q data should also not be used through unauthorised third-party software to guide insulin dosing decisions.
If you use an insulin pump independently from GlucoSensor Q, discuss with your healthcare professional how glucose information from the CGM should be used in your diabetes management. GlucoSensor Q does not directly control or communicate with an insulin pump.
Your GlucoSensor Q system is working correctly when the app is receiving glucose readings as expected, the sensor is securely attached and there are no active sensor or system error messages.
Always consider your symptoms together with your CGM readings. If a glucose reading does not match how you feel or what you expect, verify your glucose with a blood glucose meter before making treatment decisions.
Also check that Bluetooth is enabled, the GlucoSensor Q app is running correctly and the sensor remains securely attached. A loose or partially detached sensor may result in missing readings or alerts.
If you experience repeated data gaps, unexpected readings, sensor errors or other problems, consult the GlucoSensor Q Instructions for Use or contact GlucoSensor customer support.
There is no separate reset function for the GlucoSensor Q sensor itself.
If the system or app is not working as expected, first close and reopen the GlucoSensor Q app. If the problem continues, restart your smartphone and open the app again.
If the issue still remains, check whether an app update is available and make sure Bluetooth is enabled and the required app permissions are allowed.
As a final troubleshooting step, you can delete and reinstall the GlucoSensor Q app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. After reinstalling, log in again and reconnect the sensor if required.

GlucoSensor Q should only be used within the environmental conditions specified in the Instructions for Use.

Unopened sensors should be stored and transported between 2°C and 30°C and should never be frozen.

If your GlucoSensor Q sensor is not connecting to the app, try these steps in order:
- Make sure Bluetooth is enabled on your smartphone and keep the phone close to the sensor.
- Close the GlucoSensor Q app completely and reopen it.
- If the connection is still not restored, restart your smartphone and open the app again.
- Check whether an update is available for the GlucoSensor Q app and make sure your smartphone operating system is up to date.
- In the GlucoSensor Q app, go to the Sensor settings and check whether the sensor is still paired. If necessary, follow the in-app instructions to reconnect or pair the sensor again.
- Make sure the GlucoSensor Q app has the required Bluetooth and notification permissions and that battery-saving or background restrictions are not preventing the app from communicating with the sensor.
If the sensor still does not connect, contact GlucoSensor customer support and provide your smartphone model, operating system version, app version and any error message shown in the app.
The GlucoSensor Q app helps you understand how your glucose changes over time and how factors such as food, exercise, sleep, stress and daily habits may affect your glucose patterns.
Look beyond individual glucose readings and focus on recurring trends. For example, you may notice glucose increases after certain meals, different responses to exercise, or patterns that occur at particular times of day.
The Trends section provides tools such as Time in Range (TIR), Ambulatory Glucose Profile (AGP), average glucose values and multi-day glucose profiles to help you review glucose variability and patterns over a selected period.
You can also use your personal glucose range and alert settings to help put individual readings into context. These settings can be adjusted according to your personal preferences or recommendations from your healthcare professional.
For lifestyle use, comparing several days or weeks of data can help you better understand your personal glucose response and metabolic health. If you use GlucoSensor Q for diabetes management, discuss significant or recurring patterns with your healthcare professional before making changes to medication or treatment.
If a GlucoSensor Q reading looks unusual or does not match how you feel or what you expect, verify your glucose with a blood glucose meter before making treatment decisions.
Keep in mind that GlucoSensor Q measures glucose in interstitial fluid, so readings can temporarily differ from blood glucose values, especially when glucose is changing rapidly after meals, exercise or insulin use.
Also check that the sensor is securely attached and has not become loose or partially detached. Do not try to reposition or reinsert a sensor that has already been placed.

Each GlucoSensor Q sensor can be worn for up to 14 days. The GlucoSensor Q app shows the active sensor’s expiration date and time and will indicate when the sensor session has ended.
Replace the sensor when the 14-day wear period has ended or when the app indicates that the sensor has expired.
You should also replace the sensor earlier if it becomes loose or detached, is damaged, or if the app indicates that the sensor can no longer be used. Do not attempt to reinsert, reposition or reuse a sensor after removal.
If you experience temporary missing readings or an unexpected glucose value, this does not automatically mean that the sensor needs to be replaced. Follow the troubleshooting guidance first and contact GlucoSensor customer support if the problem continues.
After placing and activating a new GlucoSensor Q sensor, there is a warm-up period of approximately 60 minutes before glucose readings become available.
During this time, the sensor is starting up and stabilising. Once the warm-up period is complete, glucose data will begin appearing automatically in the GlucoSensor Q app.
The GlucoSensor Q app is available for compatible Apple iPhone and Android smartphones through the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.

An internet connection is required to log in to the GlucoSensor Q app and for certain online functions.
Once you are logged in and an active GlucoSensor Q sensor is connected, the sensor communicates directly with your smartphone via Bluetooth. This means you can continue to view your glucose readings without an internet connection, as long as Bluetooth remains enabled and the sensor stays within communication range.
For example, GlucoSensor Q can continue to function during a flight when your smartphone is in airplane mode, provided Bluetooth is switched back on and permitted by the airline.
Some functions, such as account services, data sharing or other online features, may not be available until an internet connection is restored.
If your smartphone moves outside the Bluetooth communication range of the GlucoSensor Q sensor, the connection may be temporarily interrupted and new glucose readings or alerts may not appear in the app.
The GlucoSensor Q app will first try to restore the Bluetooth connection automatically when your smartphone is back within range of the sensor.
If the connection is not restored automatically, a Reconnect button will appear on the Home screen of the app. Tap Reconnect to make your smartphone actively search for the sensor and restore the connection.
Once the connection has been restored, glucose data collected during the interruption may synchronise with the app.
Keep Bluetooth enabled and your smartphone reasonably close to the sensor whenever possible, especially if you rely on glucose alerts.
Yes. You can continue using an active GlucoSensor Q sensor after changing smartphones, but the sensor must be paired with the new phone.
Install the GlucoSensor Q app on the new smartphone, log in to your GlucoSensor account and make sure Bluetooth and the required app permissions are enabled.
To pair the active sensor with the new smartphone, scan the QR code on the original sensor applicator.
If the applicator has already been discarded, open the GlucoSensor Q app on your old smartphone and note the sensor serial number shown in the upper-left corner of the Home screen. During pairing on the new smartphone, enter this serial number manually instead of scanning the QR code.
If the sensor does not connect, restart the new smartphone, reopen the app and try pairing again. If the problem continues, contact GlucoSensor customer support.
You can wear GlucoSensor Q while sleeping, but avoid prolonged pressure directly on the sensor.
Pressure from sleeping on the sensor can affect the placement site and may temporarily influence sensor readings. For this reason, choose a placement site that is unlikely to be compressed while you sleep.

GlucoSensor Q can be placed on the back of the upper arm or on the abdomen. Choose healthy, intact skin and avoid areas that are irritated, scarred, hardened, damaged or regularly exposed to pressure or friction.
Rotating the placement site gives the skin time to recover between sensor sessions and can help reduce irritation.
If a placement site remains red, painful or irritated after sensor removal, allow the area to recover before using that location again.
A small amount of bleeding can occasionally occur during sensor placement if a small blood vessel is touched. This is not unusual and is usually limited to the placement site.
Gently clean any blood around the sensor placement area without rubbing or pressing on the site.
According to the GlucoSensor Q Instructions for Use, if bleeding occurs at the sensor placement site, remove and discard the sensor and check the skin for continued bleeding or irritation before placing a new sensor at a different approved placement site.

If your smartphone is switched off or runs out of battery, the GlucoSensor Q app cannot display new glucose readings or provide alerts on the phone during that period.
Once the smartphone is switched back on and Bluetooth communication with the sensor is restored, stored glucose data may automatically synchronise if data was collected during the interruption.
Keep your smartphone powered on, sufficiently charged and within communication range whenever possible, especially if you rely on glucose alerts.
GlucoSensor Q should only be used within the environmental conditions specified in the Instructions for Use.
